How we approach each engagement
Every engagement begins with a conversation — not a detailed questionnaire or a lengthy scoping document. We want to understand your situation, your audience (whether a buyer, a board, or a regulator), and what you are trying to be in a position to say or decide at the end of the engagement.
From there, we agree scope in writing before any substantive work begins. The scope document describes what the engagement will produce, what it will not produce, what we will need from you, and when we expect to deliver.
During the engagement, working sessions and any site visits are conducted by the named consultants. We keep you informed of progress and raise questions as they arise — rather than saving them for a final review call.
The final deliverable is reviewed internally before delivery, and presented with a brief explanation of how it was developed and what decisions it is, and is not, designed to support. We are available for a follow-up call after delivery at no additional charge.
Engagement 01
ESG Direction Engagement
A considered starting point for Malaysian firms where overseas buyers are beginning to ask measured questions. We work alongside your finance and operations teams to map material environmental and social topics, build a starting register, and draft an initial narrative for stakeholders.
The engagement does not promise compliance with any particular regime — rather, it lays a careful foundation that may be developed further over the years that follow.
What is included
- Materiality mapping workshop and written map
- Starting ESG disclosure register
- Draft stakeholder narrative (approx. 2,000 words)
- Four working sessions (scheduled at your convenience)
- Follow-up call after delivery
Process steps
Initial conversation — we discuss your situation, your buyers' requests, and what the engagement will and will not produce.
Scope agreement — written scope document agreed before work begins.
Materiality mapping — facilitated session with your team to identify relevant topics.
Register development — working sessions to build the starting register.
Narrative drafting and delivery — internal review, then final document delivered with explanatory call.
Duration
12–14 weeks
Fee
RM 3,200
Engagement 02
Supply Chain Review
A patient look at your tier-one and selected tier-two suppliers, asking quiet but specific questions about labour conditions, environmental practices, and continuity. We conduct desk research and selected site visits, then prepare a written review noting concerns ranked by severity and likelihood.
The aim is not exposure but considered preparation — knowing what your buyers may eventually ask.
What is included
- Desk research on tier-one suppliers and selected tier-two
- Selected site visits where warranted by desk findings
- Written review with concerns ranked by severity and likelihood
- One-page board summary
- Discussion with your procurement lead before finalisation
Process steps
Supplier list and scope agreement — we agree which suppliers fall within scope and what questions the review will address.
Desk research — review of publicly available and client-supplied information on suppliers.
Site visits — selected visits where desk findings indicate they are warranted.
Procurement lead discussion — draft findings discussed with your team before the written review is finalised.
Written review and board summary — final documents delivered with explanatory call.
Duration
8–10 weeks
Fee
RM 2,850
Engagement 03
Sustainability Note
A short written response to a single ESG question — for instance, whether a particular reporting framework is suitable for your firm at this stage, or how to handle a specific request from an overseas customer.
Useful for finance directors and founders weighing a particular question without yet committing to a longer engagement.
What is included
- Written response of approximately 1,500 words
- Tailored to your specific question and firm context
- Follow-up call to discuss the response and any questions
- Practical, non-prescriptive guidance
What makes a good question for this engagement
A Sustainability Note works best when the question is specific and the answer will inform a decision. Examples of suitable questions:
- "Is GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards suitable for a firm of our size at this stage?"
- "Our buyer in Germany has sent us a questionnaire — how should we approach it?"
- "What should we include in a first response to Bursa Malaysia's enhanced sustainability guidance?"
Duration
~3 weeks
Fee
RM 800
